At unooggi, we believe that every piece of jewelry tells a story. After working in the graphic arts industry for over 25 years my husband suddenly suffered from a condition called NAION and became legally blind. This condition as you could imagine changed his life dramatically. After trying many new hobbies with his new condition he found that working with beads and knots to be therapeutic. Creating these pieces keeps his mind relaxed. It helps him understand that he needs to keep focused on today, that there are countless yesterdays and many tomorrows, but there is only 'one today' - 'uno oggi'. At the end of each design you will find a single wood bead to help remind you of just this.
